1) to stop condensation - in his opinion a lot of sarking is not installed properly and does not effectively stop condensation anyway, so he is not worried that we don't have it for this reason
2) to reflect heat in the roof cavity - and a whirly bird will do the same thing as this so we might just get one of those installed after handover.

Is sarking an insulator from Summer heat?
Would having a lighter gray roof tile, really make any difference in energy efficeincy over dark gray?
