Evaporative cooling

Hello everyone,

I have just joined this forum and am at the very start of the house build journey going through the sales quote. Evaporative cooling is included in the quote.

I just wondered is it best to have the cooling installed as part of the build or look around for a better deal and get it done separately after completion?

Why do you want Evaporative cooling?

Is the weather in your area very humid?

Thanks for replying. I will be living in Melbourne south east suburbs. It does not get too many humid days but is hot, often with over 40 degree days.

Evaporative cooling is standard on homes built in last 10/15 years.

The cooling unit that the builders are installing is a Brivis Promina P66. Do you know what are the good brands?

You won’t get much credit back for included items. I would incline to keep as is unless you are not happy with the model and upgrade is expensive.

Thanks. Sorry, I misread the quote. Providing the cooling is included but providing the actual unit with 8 points, controller etc to the house is nearly $7K.

We had a Brivis Contour L66 to 8 points installed post handover for $5,100 earlier this month. We used Dale Air who are based in Dingley. We gave them our floor plan during construction and got a quote based on that. I’d recommend them.

Thanks Mrs_W ! I am also looking for an installer for the Brivis L66. Looks like you were happy with Dale Air so will have a look into it. Also was your 4 Bedroom house ? Just trying to finalize the vent locations. Thanks !
