Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Sep 03, 2008 1:12 pm We have an old Victorian house and we are looking at putting insulation under the floorboards. We are able to access them from under the house providing my husband does not gain any weight
Has anybody done this?? What type of material did you use and how effective has it been?? Thanks, Allison Re: Under floor insulation 2Sep 04, 2008 11:36 pm What is the under floor ventilation like?
Options are poly batts, fibreglas batts or reflective. But reflective will degrade as more dust gets on it. As for doing it - it's one of those jobs I'm delaying till next winter nears Steve Re: Under floor insulation 3Sep 06, 2008 7:00 pm Hi Steve,
The underfloor ventilation is good at the moment but we don't have any bargeboards!! Once they are replaced, I still think the ventilation will be fairly good. Does this make a big difference?? It is interesting what you are saying about the reflective insulation degrading with dust, I had never heard of this before. What are you planning on using?? Allison Re: Under floor insulation 4Sep 06, 2008 8:58 pm dust does has some impact on reflective products IMO it's more the movement of air that concerne me with them.
I'm planning on poly batts as they will fit up nice and snug with wire holding them up. Steve 1 10136 CDC Housing Code 3 When to apply Floor Area external face of wall vs Gross Floor Area internal face of wall. Reading thru CDC Housing Code 3, lets take a lot 915sqm.… 0 16563 |
