We live in Mission a each and have bought a home that has a raked ceiling rumpus room that faces west. It has beautiful high windows at the beak but they do not open, they are fixed glass. This room gets so hot and the hot air gets trapped in here. There is no ceiling space to add extra insulation so I am wondering the best way to create the airflow we need to get the hot air out. In summer, this room can get close to 40 degrees. Should we change the windows at the top to be able to open? If so, what sort of cost would this be for custom windows? Should they be louvres, push out windows? Or should we put some air vents in the ceiling? Maybe Change the wall windows to be louvred so there’s more airflow? Bigger fans? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The opposite wall to the high windows - possibly make the doorway bigger for more airflow?Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅
