Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Aug 30, 2008 3:49 pm Hey Guys,
was looking into using colourbond for our new roof and i am keen to insulate the roof too, ive heard of using foil and now this ritek stuff :http://www.ritek.net.au/roof_faq.php i think its 2x sheets with foam inbetween anyone used it before? how does it compare up to the other products on the market? -Nathan 2nd-Fix | Blog Building with Desyn Homes previously with the insolvent Endeavour Homes Re: Roof Insulation - Foil/Foam/Ritek 2Sep 01, 2008 4:28 pm I'd say it's very expensive - two layers of Colorbond + EPS won't come cheap. I think that Ritek panels don't make sense unless you're considering a fancy skillion or profiled roof. For a normal stick or truss roof a layer of Anticon under the tin and the thick batts in the ceiling would be just as good as the panels, but most likely cheaper and simpler.

whatabout the foil on the underside of the sheeting? every bit helps.. i am planning on having a small attic for my solar gear/wifi stuff; so thick insulation and boards will do. -Nathan 2nd-Fix | Blog Building with Desyn Homes previously with the insolvent Endeavour Homes Re: Roof Insulation - Foil/Foam/Ritek 4Sep 02, 2008 12:02 am Quote: whatabout the foil on the underside of the sheeting? every bit helps..
