I have a steel heating duct that runs along my ground floor ceiling feeding my heating vents of my 1st floor of the house. I want to cut into it to feed a room on the ground floor. 1. Do I cut my new vents over the windows, 2. Do I face the vents blowing down to the floor or blowing over the top of the ceiling. Thanks in advance.

Update. The more ventilation the better. We have a massive subfloor cavity. Discussed options with landscaper and will build deck over entry and in front of window.
