Heating, Cooling & Insulation

Hi, I've got an old place with a bullnose verandah that's been enclosed to create a laundry bathroom. In summer heat just radiates through to the layer of gyprock that comprises the ceiling. Taking the bullnose sheeting up is not an option, I can likely get to the underside of most of the sheets as there's currently nothing resembling insulation. Querying whats that most effective way to block some of that heat (and possibly insulate against cold in winter).

If the ceiling is lined, and you can remove the lining and there is a space, you can install batts. If there is no ceiling, then it's a bit more difficult, because you will need to use mesh or create a ceiling to keep the batts in place. Another alternative is a form of spray on insulation. A picture of what you currently have is always helpful.

Thank you algernon and alexp79, very informative response as usual. I shall seek to have separate slabs for alfresco and porch. Sorry CheeseNWine, for hijacking your tread!
