Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation Re: Ducted refrigerative aircon - condensation run off 2Jul 14, 2016 6:45 pm In heating mode the outdoor coil effectively becomes the evaporator hence why it drips condensate. It should have been drained off the bottom of the outdoor unit to a condensate drain as is good practice and compliance to plumbing regulations. The onlt scenario where leaving the condensate to drip off the outdoor unit like that is if was installed over a garden bed. I'd get the installers back to rectify this or if you're not having any luck then contact the relevant body that inspects and regulates plumbing work in your state and they'll organize the installer back to rectify as defective plumbing work. hth Re: Ducted refrigerative aircon - condensation run off 4Jul 14, 2016 8:57 pm I'm not a plumber myself but my understanding of the regs in relation to condensate drainage is that it must be discharged to a drain point if by not doing so it causes a nuisance such as pooling of water across a walkway. I'm not too sure about who's in the right in relation to the outdoor unit being situated there before the paving but if the paving or some sort of walkway is shown on your plans then compliance to the plumbing regs should still apply. hth |
