Or one goes with blown-in to deal with irregular shapes. If your insulation goal is to maximize the r-value within your space and cost constraints, then voila. Of course cost is also helped by being the dominant insulation type. And like with all products, there can be a self-selection towards historically popular products. (People expect fibreglass, big box hardware stores only stock fibreglass, people aren't confronted by other options) store's don't stock polyester, it's not going to show.
