Reaching out to the brains trust on this one.
Currently finalising design for our future home to be built on the south coast of NSW (mild temperate).
One of the "design features" is a skillion roof with the rafters supporting ceiling battens.
Colorbond roof to battens with sarking over safety mesh, rafters @ 900 centres, with batts between, ceiling battens with gyprock. Span is approximately 5600, so expecting rafters to be 200 to 240 deep.
Not intending to have soffits or enclosed eaves, but will have 700mm overhangs on northern (highest) end, with roof continuing over verandah on southern end. This overhang will provide shading for celerestory windows
My question is, should I make provision for mesh vents along the top edge of the wall for each airspace between rafters to facilitate airflow? Say 100mm x 400 expanded mesh insets into cladding that extends upwards between the "exposed" rafters?
Thanks in advance
