Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Mar 30, 2016 2:57 pm Hi everyone. I have a few questions about roof ventilation devices. I had done some research and found out that there are 3 main roof vents available for residential roofs with solar power. They are Solarwhiz 3000, Solarvent and Solarstar. All three look pretty similar. Can someone share some experience on these vents, maybe someone is using them in their homes. My house will be 1 story 270 m2. Re: Roof vent thread 4Apr 11, 2016 9:13 am I have a Solarwhiz 3000 here, and it works great. Home is only 235 sqm in size. I've got the panel attached almost flat so that it works the best in summer, and isn't all that efficient in the winter (fan doesn't work as hard in winter then). I looked at the others, but felt this was the best one to get. Owner Building at Jimboomba Woods in Logan City Qld. Do you have any idea for how many degrees your roof is cooler in summer temperatures, compared to what you have had before installing it? I'm asking this because I try to understand will one unit be enough or should I install 2. I know that more is better than less, but still maybe you have made some calculations. Re: Roof vent thread 6Apr 23, 2016 9:43 pm I can't honestly tell you because this was a new build, so no previous experience here with it. If you do get two, ensure that you have plenty of spots under the eaves so that air can get in to the roof, otherwise you'd be wasting your time with two. I have actually turned off the fan on a warm to hot day, and it doesn't take long for the roof to get rather warm, but alas I never measured the temperature before and after. And is it possible to disconnect the duct joined to the vent from inside the house, without going into the roof cavity? 0 5947 Hi, Apologies - I know there is plenty out there on this but struggling to put together the puzzle.
