If you do get two, ensure that you have plenty of spots under the eaves so that air can get in to the roof, otherwise you'd be wasting your time with two. I have actually turned off the fan on a warm to hot day, and it doesn't take long for the roof to get rather warm, but alas I never measured the temperature before and after.
