Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Jul 16, 2008 2:13 pm Hi, I only moved in to this house 5 Months ago, so don't have any history at all of this heating system. Ever since we moved in, I have had little control over my heating/cooling blowing at the ceiling outlets. I have a Brivis gas furnace (MPS (version 1) Gas Ducted Heater) and add on cooling unit (Pioneer - with issues but for another time...!!) On the wall controller, (Brivis Wall Control Networker (version 1) there are two zones (Zone A - Downstairs and Zone B - Upstairs) On the selections, I can have zone A only, zone B only or Both or None. The problem is that for some reason, Zone B never switches off during any of these selections, there is never a voltage at zone B motor to switch it off, it is always on (until I switch it off totally at the wall controller) then it closes at it should. I just replaced the damper motors as I thought this might be the problem - but it is still the same. So, as it closes when switched off, and the voltage does go to the motor to close, does this prove the wiring is okay.? Could this be a wall controller issue or perhaps the network unit in the roof (Brivis Network 506) How can I test to prove what needs replacing to avoid another un-necessary purchase. I would appreciate your help, many thanks, Martyn. Re: Control Freak 2Jul 16, 2008 7:29 pm sounds like a wiring issue, you might need an electrician to check it. Re: Control Freak 3Jul 16, 2008 8:36 pm I had something very similar with my brivis system, Zone B wouldn't switch off when the desired temp was reached (in my case Zone B would only switch off when Zone A reach the set temp as well)
To cut a long story short it turns out that the relay for Zone B was set to 1 (Zone A) instead of 2 (Zone B) once I set this everything worked as per normal. If this sounds like your problem give Brivis a call and say your with abc cooling or whatever and you need to check that the Zones are set to the correct relays they should be able talk you through accessing the service menu and checking the settings. For some reason they wont do this for customers hence the need for them to think you are an installer Mike Thanks 4Jul 17, 2008 6:42 pm Thanks for replies, I have called Brivis and they are going to get someone - techie - to call me back and talk me through setting up the zones. I was hoping for the callback to be today, but it is getting late now, they close at 19:00. Will keep ypu posted. Re: Control Freak 5Jul 17, 2008 7:35 pm Just make sure that when you are talking through the settings with the tech that particular attention is paid to the relay settings.
The settings are hard to under stand - they are all parameter /value numbers. When the tech talked me through it he missed it and then proceeded to tell me the networker was faulty To my understanding early saw cuts are to control shrinkage cracks, so doing them now would be pointless.
