Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has hydronic heating using a heat pump not a gas boiler and whether it is cost effective. Can anyone tell me much about them?
thanks.

Regards, Limefroggy Re: Electric heat pump for hydronic? 13Nov 28, 2015 8:35 am Hello all. Has anyone had any issues with the amps that heat pumps draw to run their hydronic heating? Our electrician has told us we dont have enough amps!?! We are rural vic, evidently we only have around 50 amps and the heat pump for the floor is 32 amps on start up, using over half the amps available. I dont not understand amps etc, power comes from t he power line doesnt it, lol! Has anyone else explored these issues? Thanks in advanced Re: Electric heat pump for hydronic? 14Nov 29, 2015 12:50 am I'm surprised in this day and age they're not using soft starters over DOL starters. If you only have a 50A supply it means the cable from the power line is smaller than what is installed for newer houses so instead of having the full 63A available you have a reduced maximum demand. Did your electrician quote you or offer a mains upgrade in order to have enough supply to run your heat pump? Currently renovating, and our main lounge is 5m x 10m, with a cathedral roof peaking at 6.5m high. Currently have tiles on concrete slab. Room is very hard to heat. I am… 0 4822 Does anyone have a suggestion for a good hydronic in slab heating speacialist who may be able to help me with an existing system and wether or not it may need a seperator… 0 4890 |
