That price sounds pretty good to me (assuming that is complete supply & install price). Can you supply any more information on what the price includes? I am getting two of those in the ESP Ultima with lots of outlets and controllers and it is 38K fully supplied and installed. If it is 12K supply and install that seems cheap by any means. Re: How good is Actron 3 phase 3 Zone SRA173C for double lev 4Mar 09, 2015 4:15 pm It includes both install and supply. But if I just go for duct work without Actron for future install then it would cost me around 4000 dollars. Do you think 3 zones are enough for a double level and how good is this model? Re: How good is Actron 3 phase 3 Zone SRA173C for double lev 5Mar 09, 2015 5:21 pm Price sounds good. The air conditioning company should be able to give you some advice to sizing and zoning. We started with the same model and 2 zones as an inclusion but upgraded to a slightly larger and the next model up with 3 zones. The main reason was we wanted another zone and I didn't want the ac to be constantly blowing and we were told the sra173 wouldn't mind be able to cope with our house size. Re: How good is Actron 3 phase 3 Zone SRA173C for double lev 6Mar 09, 2015 7:29 pm Have a think about how difficult it will be to install a ducted fan coil unit in the top storey of a two storey house after it's built.... the roof would need to be partially removed (including roof battens) and the unit either craned in or (if the installers don't have safety protocols) dragged up a big extension ladder to the roof. That's if the unit will even fit between the trusses Trust me, do it during the build. You're getting a great price, just do it. I got a rather quick reply, but it just said that they had forwarded my details to the local dealer/fitter in Perth who will get back to me. Then I decided to do a little review research, and to be honest, I haven't seen a single good review about them (besides ones that were 2-3 years old on this site). I did stumble across a review site that we don't seem to like on this site, but it's amazing to see they were 95% negative (among about 70 reviews) which is astonishing even for that site. Now I know you don't take reviews as gospel, but generally they are mixed. These are nothing but bad! Not only customer service from the dealers (non Actron dealers, just the local guys) but the actual units themselves which have constantly failed. Based on their advertising, they are Aussie made to meet our strict environment, so I'd love to hear from people who have them and haven't had issues! Re: How good is Actron 3 phase 3 Zone SRA173C for double lev 10Mar 31, 2015 10:44 pm Hi Kron I hope you realize that you're more likely to have someone write up a review based on a bad experience than someone who will write up a review praising how good a product or service is. Actron Air units seem to be a popular choice for quite a few members on here and the consensus is far from negative. Personally I've not seen any of their ducted units myself but have worked on their packaged units and I have to say that the build quality is better than average and by average I'll compare them to APAC units. The outdoor coils were screened with a hail gaurd as standard, the pipework was marked and formed and bent with mechanical benders and the switchgear used was not the rubbish some other manufacturers use. I would personally suggest that you meet with the local dealer/installer, view a display unit and depending on the vibe you're getting then make your choice on if you want to go with them or not. hth Re: How good is Actron 3 phase 3 Zone SRA173C for double lev 11Apr 04, 2015 9:24 pm Kron your research couldn't,t be further from the truth, I looked for months and months all over the Internet over tons of forums, then I spoke to several dealers and installers, and came to the conclusion that actron is number 1 in Australia , and I had never heard of them, but my installer was a qualified engineer whom works with all brands and regularly helps many company's with hard jobs, he had only good words about actron, I got a 17 kW add on air con, done the job easily this summer, got 4 zones in a 35square house ,never ran more than 3zones has just didn't need too, you won't regret getting actron, also I know many false reviews done by vested interest party's, speak to those who go around the country installing ,they truely would know. They generally good. Internet forums are magnets for bad reviews. The many thousands of people who have had no problems won't feel compelled to get on an internet forum and share their experiences.
