I actually want to know about best solar panels installers in Melbourne, as i have to buy solar panels for my home. Can anyone tell me about best solar panel contractors in Melbourne to save on my energy bills. Thanks in Advance. Re: Where to buy solar panels in Melbourne? 2Feb 18, 2015 10:35 am Avoid the big name mobs, such as modern, true value, citisolar, and several others, as whilst they may give what on face value seems to be a reasonable quote, you will live to regret the poor workmanship and design of the system. Stick to a good quality inverter such as SMA or Kaco (there are others too, not just these two brands). Don't get tricked in to recommendations such as "these panels are in the top twenty brands", when such statements might be true, if they are brand number 19, then those panels aren't really much good at all ..... top 5 panel brands are the minimum to qualify for the top x brands. Any brands below 10 on such a list should be avoided. Always ask your neighbours and friends for recommendations on suppliers, particulary if they have had their PV system on for a couple of years or more.
