Anyone have any thoughts on gable fans?
I have a weatherboard house with iron roof and 2 gable ends.
the roof pitch is 35* so have big space up there.
I have previously removed the eaves lining along the lower section and replaced it
with slatted timber and installed 2 roof ventilators high up to try to get some convection
going.I personally don't think these roof ventilators work that well.
I have been in my ceiling space on a hot day and with a cigarette the smoke barely goes
up the throat of the vent.I have worked on other houses where I have had to remove a
roof tile on a hot day and nearly get blown off the roof with the gush of hot air coming out.
I feel the fins on the cowl are too restrictive.
Thoughts anyone?
