Handy already has the ducted heater and also the required number of outlets. Suggestions and advice should be within the constraints of his limitations. I'm not sure suggesting the perfect installation would benefit him if it wasn't achievable to him without costly capital expenditure. Re: Duct Heating Expert - Redo Ducting Air Flow 23Oct 30, 2014 7:58 pm Hi Bels & B Star, Once again thanks for your input guys.... Some more questions....... It seems that I have two runs running down my house supplying air however then they split into more sections soe its seems the 6" ducts might be a bit to long. I did find a couple of holes that needs to be fixed as well. What the best way to seal the ducts up with duct TAPE? Shoud I also be using cable ties so seal teh ducts up? Whats the best way when you have to join two ducts? How far apart should the handing straps be holding the ducts so the air can free flow? What is the maximum length you can run a 6inch duct? Without taking the ducts apart how does one know what size that duct is? Does it matter what kind of Thermostat is used for a ducting system? I'm planning to do this during summer but need to get everything in place and purchase whatr I need before XMAS and some of these companies close. Use larger diameter flexes or spiro duct for your main trunks and then use reducers to step back down to what size is required. Were you keen on posting your house plan with outlets marked? Quote: I did find a couple of holes that needs to be fixed as well. If replacing the flexes then don't bother with fixing holes but if reusing some of the flexes then by all means seal them up. Quote: What the best way to seal the ducts up with duct TAPE? what are you sealing them up to? you generally need to seal flexes or something a bit more rigid. Look up duct fixing on youtube. Example here although I don't fix screws to the flexes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUzEwvFhy60 Quote: Shoud I also be using cable ties so seal teh ducts up? cable ties or duct tape. I worked with quite a few old school mechanic plumbers during my tenure as an apprentice and they all leaned towards duct tape. Quote: Whats the best way when you have to join two ducts? See previous comments above. Get straight metal joiner. Quote: How far apart should the handing straps be holding the ducts so the air can free flow? I use no set distance, as long as you keep the flexes as straight as you can. Quote: What is the maximum length you can run a 6inch duct? Depends on how much air is required and at what static pressure Quote: Without taking the ducts apart how does one know what size that duct is? Measure diameter. Duct work sizes step in 2" steps. Quote: Does it matter what kind of Thermostat is used for a ducting system? Not really. You could use anything like an old mercury switch up to a full programmable smart thermostat if you wanted. 'It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog.' Good luck with it. I don't know what the cost of a nice bidet seat with a 25mm air gap will be but you are obviously deducting the cost of a RPZ valve and its… 9 6972 You may still have a case, but your next step is to speak to a lawyer. 3 1580 How do you remove one of these ceiling air con vents? And is it possible to disconnect the duct joined to the vent from inside the house, without going into the roof cavity? 0 5899 |
