Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation Re: Wood fireplace in the hunter valley/newcastle 2Jul 18, 2014 8:43 am The only two places I know of are Glendale Warehouse and Embers Heating in East Maitland. When I bought my last combustion heater about 4 years ago I compared the cost at these two stores and ended up buying it from Abbey Fireplaces in Sydney (who I found online) and getting it shipped up to newcastle which saved me about $400. Abbey Fireplaces website is a good resource as it lists nearly all the wood heaters available in Australia with specs and prices which will allow you to select the one you want and compare the prices against the two newcastle stores. We are currently renovating and I'm looking at buying another wood heater but the pricing at Abbey doesn't seem as cheap in comparison any more. This time I found the heater at Hawkesbury Heating $300 cheaper and will go and collect it from them if the other stores don't match the price. All these vendors have websites so get online and start comparing! Re: Wood fireplace in the hunter valley/newcastle 4Jul 21, 2014 3:26 pm I'm in the Central Tablelands but found a Dixon heating in Albion Park to be the most helpful and cheapest in NSW even after freight. Their website isn't great but if you want a great website then use the Victoria based wood heater people to do your research. Can't remember their name sorry so Google it. Good luck. We have a heat charm 3000 and will be installing a mega rad People make one happy, not houses? I do not think so. Houses are more to be trusted than people.
