Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 May 05, 2014 10:42 pm I am looking at purchasing a 12.5kw ducted inverter air con. At first I was considering a Panasonic unit, which has an EER and COP rating of 3.21 and 3.37 respectively. Then I started looking at the equivalent 12.5kw Mitsubishi, which confusingly has an EER rating and two different AEER ratings, and a COP rating and ACOP rating. I am in Melbourne and plan to use the unit for heating more so than cooling. The COP/ACOP ratings are variously 3.98 to 4.28, which is significantly higher than the Panasonic and in fact greater than most other ducted air cons on the market (as far as I can tell). Would this make the Mitsubishi far more efficient to run (for heating) than the Panasonic? Is there anything I'm missing, and what to make of the confusing EER/AEER and COP/ACOP ratings? And is it possible to disconnect the duct joined to the vent from inside the house, without going into the roof cavity? 0 5933 Hi all, sorting out the ducted air con for a 350sqm double story house.
