I've heard that ceiling batts compress over time and lose effectiveness, and eventually should be replaced. How can you tell when they need replacing? Is this also true of wall batts? If not, why not? And if so, with replacing them not an easy task, why have them?
Does the material have an effect on batts compressing? Are wool or polyester batts less prone to this than fibreglass batts?
