The "radiators" will be in-slab piping, so no wall units or similar. Also, I'm only using solar hot water panels for collecting heat. That is, no gas or electric heater. So if the sun's not shining, no heating, but with full brick and concrete slabs it would take several sunless days before the house cools down. I'm very interested in putting slab heating in too, but I am struggling to find many suppliers in Sydney. Any chance of letting us know who you have got to do the job? Thanks Steve Re: Hydronic heating...quotes etc 23Jun 09, 2008 10:28 pm u9026a Casa2 I'm putting in hydronic heating. The "radiators" will be in-slab piping, so no wall units or similar. Thanks Steve I haven't chosen a supplier yet. There are plenty advertising on the internet. Two years ago we paid about $270 for the same period, for a house of 11 squares with an old crappy ducted heating (OK, also crappy insulation and single glazed windows). Hi mek, if you don't mind me asking. How much did you pay for the system? is it in-slab or wall panels? Re: Hydronic heating...quotes etc 27Jun 29, 2009 8:23 pm I don't really know, popcorn chicken, as we had one overall figure for our house, but before we started building I visited a heating shop and informally was told it would be somewhere around $15k for a house of our size. We have panels, including hallways and bathrooms. Re: Hydronic heating...quotes etc 28Jun 30, 2009 10:57 am Sorry mek, after i post that question, i found your old thread regarding the system. hahaha... thanks for all the information! Do you find the air is drier inside with the hydronic system? one of our family friend who has the panel system at home says the air is drier than a ducted system. Re: Hydronic heating...quotes etc 29Jul 01, 2009 8:23 am I personally don't notice the air is dry, but it must be, as in Europe lots of people put special pots of water on the heater, you can also put a wet cloth on, or even dry some clothes in an emergency . I air the house quite a bit, nothing worse than stale air (with the heating off, of course ). Does anyone have a suggestion for a good hydronic in slab heating speacialist who may be able to help me with an existing system and wether or not it may need a seperator… 0 4883 Currently renovating, and our main lounge is 5m x 10m, with a cathedral roof peaking at 6.5m high.
