Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Feb 24, 2014 5:10 pm Both bath and ensuite in our new little house will have electric resistance underfloor heat. (We have soothed our green sensibilities by whacking a 5kV solar system on the shed roof.) Wondered where the temperature sensor for the thermostat should go? At present in both baths it is front of the door, conveniently close to the thermostat but in place I am unlikely to stand in the bath. Seems like the sensor would be better put in the middle of the floor, or in front of the bath or vanity? This question appears resistant to googling, so your help much appreciated! The sensors is located at a place that is most representative of the actual temperature... not in droughts, not getting wet. Re: Under floor heating --where does the thermostat go? 3Mar 27, 2014 8:41 am Hi ChrisE, Not sure what floor heating product you purchased, so I'll explain how it works with our product (Livella Heating Systems), which will most likely work for you. With our floor heating system it does not matter where the floor sensing probe is positioned. Our sensing probe is placed centre between any two heating cables. We are therefore sensing quickly with a great degree of accuracy. Hope this helps, best of luck with your installation.
