I have been advised that the cable available is 2.5mm, and that although there currently is a 20A breaker installed, this can be upgraded to 25A which the 2.5mm cable should support. Can anyone please advise if this is ok and if it is legal... are there any risks? It will depend upon the type of cable used, the length, how it is run to the heater (conduit, through roof insulation etc), the nature of the load etc. So the simple answer is it depends. Best to call in a sparky who can look at exactly what you have installed and advise the best and safest way to go. PS, just one question why do you think the breaker needs to be uprated?
