Could be my ******* searching First off I’ve no idea what the current pricing is for Evap cooling, however I thought I might pass on my thoughts on the situation. IMO it’s purely a convenience decision to make with regards to getting these niceties/luxury items supplied and installed by the builder. If you have any concerns about the prices or the products then don’t get them supplied and installed by the builder. Remember that getting major items installed after handover can be quite imposing on you and your family, with trades people making alterations and in some cases a fair amount of mess i.e. plaster dust in your nice new home, also if you have any problems with say your ceilings cracking or leaks in the roof, you may not have any recourse with the builder, since they will shift blame to the last contractor on site. Our quote was $5,500 for 9 points to a two storey with PD back in March. I think ALL the prices have just gone up with PD on everything!!! Worth it though. I think you'd be better off to get this installed with the construction of the home all part of the warranty etc. Toni Re: general cost of evap cooling 4May 28, 2008 7:01 pm We're paying $3,300 to add a Brivis P43 evaporative cooling system with 7 outlets.
