Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Oct 17, 2013 11:11 am I want to install ducted gas heating under my floor but am also considering the option for add-on air conditioning. I live in Melbourne. My house is 3 bedrooms, 1 living, and 1 bath. Probably only need 5 – 6 outlets, but the option for zoning in the bedrooms would be good, particularly as I won't always want the whole house air conditioned. What brands/units should I consider and how much should I expect to pay? What are people's experiences with these systems? Re: Ducted gas heating with add-on air conditioning 2Oct 25, 2013 5:52 pm Wiax, I personally have ducted heating with add on cooling in my house and I install it. Its a great way to heat and cool your house.Gas heating is far cheaper to run then ducted refridgerated heating and I personally think its a much nicer heat. We run 4 zones and have some splits in some areas of the house to cover the whole place. We live in a 28 sq home so the kinda standard new house these days. When it comes to cost its fairly expensive, My setup was about 6500.00 With a generous discount as an installer. and the ducts where around 1500 for the full R1 setup. As I installed it no labour for myself but to be honest if i did it for a customer with ducted gas heating it would be around 5000.00 roughly installed. It does make it fairly expensive. But cost effective where your talking about heating / cooling 28sq home with splits. We used the Bonnaire system as I got a deal on it but personally prefer the bravis units.
