I've actually put my hand into a metal blade fan on high, by accident. While I wouldn't recommend putting you hands in ceiling fans ever. It was interesting to note that it didn't cut of my fingers or even rip open my skin it throbbed for a few seconds, yelled a few expletives and moved on. The Timber blade ones are even more unlikely to hurt you and on the off chance you did accidentally put your hand on there you should be ok.
