Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Mar 10, 2013 7:59 pm We have a verandah attached to our main house (so it shares a roof cavity with the main house). The roof above the verandah has no insulation – is there any point in having it installed here given that it is not an enclosed space? Re: Insulation in verandah roof 3Mar 13, 2013 11:37 am If there is no insulation/sarking to either your verandah roof itself or the ceiling below it you could end up with a lot of condensation forming. One of my clients built a big carport and despite my advice and derision from the builder he didn;t put any sarking under the colorbond sheeting. Two years later they ripped the roof off and put some in but also had to replace the damaged gyprock ceiling. Stewie Hi, I'll be starting on my verandah repair soon - replace ledger, rafters, roofing iron, flashing etc. (fascia board already done). My question is about the timber ledger… 0 3318 1 2962 I am saying that double brick has similar thermal performance due to thermal mass effect. It will be still very interesting to see the state of your framing after 10-15… 10 29740 |
