Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Feb 01, 2013 12:09 pm I need some opinions please. Our house plans are attached below for any reference. We have decided that we would like a Gas Log Heater on the ground floor of our home as a feature, thus meaning we will have to have some other form of heating either on both floors or at least just the top floor, and some form of cooling. We have a few options - A Gas Log Heater ($11K) that is ducted (can only duct to the lower floor, which would mean we still need some form of heating to the top floor). - A Gas Log Heater ($7K) that isn't ducted, this would have to be supported by full ducted heating on the ground and top floors. - Evap Cooling that we expect the builder to charge around $7K for - Split RC Air Conditioning, that could work in addition to the heater down stairs and by itself upstairs, for both this will cost around $6K Our builder does provided Gas Dusted Heating, however we have no idea of the cost of this (and therefore the refund amount if we go with a different option). Does anyone know anything about Gas Log Heaters (we need a double sided one), any recommendations. What are people's opinions when it comes to cooling, refrigerated air or evap cooling. Is $7K a lot to pay for evap cooling? This house is about 32square Re: Heating / Colling Options ... Then R/c Air cond for cooling - it has then got back up heating. Re: Heating / Colling Options ... They range from 30 -100Mj output. Quote: Designed as an insert into existing fireplaces the Supreme I30 is a Balanced Flue fireplace, featuring a heat exchange system that circulates warm air around your room and an airtight firebox that draws its air for combustion from outside, not relying on oxygen from within the room. " Heat & Glo ST-HVBI - SEE THROUGH" http://www.jetmaster.com.au/ ( they sell both Jetmaster and Heat & Glo) Quote: Not sure what you mean by "log" gas - but I love those immitation log fires They have artificial logs that look like a traditional wood fire when burning but are powered by natural gas.
