Hi,
I have a problem with a bow window with severe heat dispersion. I live in a very old house with thick walls; my flat is sufficiently insulated, but I have problems with a bow window (surface: 3x2 meters), in my lounge-room, that is really cold during winter, probably becaure of the thiny walls of the structure, the poorly insulated floor and ceiling, and the wide and imperfect windows. The bow window dispersion makes quite cold my entire lounge-room, but I don't have the possibility right now to have a 'serious' renovation.
I have an idea: what about 'cutting out' the bow window from the rest of my lounge-room by using a ceiling-to-floor curtain? I don't really need the bow window during winter time, so I can leave that cool. Please note that the heating system is in the lounge-room, and not in the bow-window. May this solution be somehow effective, or just a waste of money? In order to insulate the bow window, I need a 3 meters wide and 3,7 meters high curtain (the ceiling is quite high). In case, what kind of curtain?
Thank you a lot (and sorry for my poor English)
Albert
