Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Nov 07, 2012 4:39 pm I've noticed a lot of shops have an "air wall"; blast of cold or warm air at the front door. Do these things even work? Can you get them for home use? It'd be nice to close off a room without needing to actually close it off; one of these "air walls" things are fairly obviously intended for that purpose, but I very much have doubts about whether they do anything useful (and have never seen anything installed in someone's house). Re: Air walls - any such thing for home use, do they work? 2Nov 09, 2012 6:21 am As far as I know the air curtains in the shops work, but it depends what you want them to do! They mostly keep insects out with the curtain of air, and I believe they offer some assistance with keeping conditioned air inside, but only slightly more than an open door I would think! Of course an evaporative cooler would probably upset them by pushing air through them 2 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13745 How do you remove one of these ceiling air con vents? And is it possible to disconnect the duct joined to the vent from inside the house, without going into the roof cavity? 0 5900 |
