Everywhere I read, it says 2 systems are more efficient and my builder told me this as well It will be a single story and ducted thanks Re: 2 smaller inverters vs 1 large one (ducted) 3Aug 20, 2012 1:46 pm Firstly you need to confirm are we talking split systems versus ducted. I suspect that what you have been hearing is more from split systems. The only reason 2 smaller systems are more effecient is because you have have shorter duct work. But personally spending an extra $5K to save 5 to $10 a year might be a waste of money even if you gain some effeciency. With heating and cooling its best to have a correctly sized system that is correctly installed. Going to big can make it work ineffeciently mostly when it comes to aircond. living in Melbourne I have a HE gas heater and a simple add on Aircond. This is a good set up for melb as we tend to use heating more than cooling. There are more advance cooling systems out there but they are not very cheap to run for heating even though they are very effecient. - They work on electricity which costs more to run. If I built again and went two storey ( a large two storey) I would consider going for two smaller three phase airconds one for done stairs and one for up. Unless by then the add on cooling are made with inverter technology in which case I will go for a very big system that can operate at lower capacity. This will give me more control. So I not so hot days I can potentially run the upstairs one only. Living area/kitchen/dining, has a huge raked roof, about 5 metres tall on 1 side so hopefully its strong enough I did stress to the aircon guy, I wanted something GOOD, as I like my cool house in winter consider putting in wall WC instead of robe in the same bedroom, then it might be doable to hook up to the existing piping. 4 6610 4 4430 Hi all, My first post, we are building a house and can’t decide the layout of the lounge room. We have a large N/W facing window and are wanting to have a wood slow… 0 13719 |
