We are extending a weatherboard house, which was originally built in the 1930's. We are replacing all wall plaster so will add insulation in the walls when we do so and will have underfloor and celing insulation as well. There will be about 190sqm of inside space and the ceilings are 3 metres.
We have requested quotes for gas ducted heating with add on refrig cooling. We want 10 ceiling outlets (as there is not enough room for the larger ducts in the crawl space. I have been presented with two very different options at very different price points.
1 - BRAEMAR TH6X32 31.2 kW 6.0 star Gas Heater with ACTRON SRA161C 16.4kW Single Phase Add On Air Conditioning with 3 zones and 3 spectralink controllers $15070
2 - Braemar 6 star unit being a thm6x23 with a lennox add on refrigerated unit rated at 17kw with two zones and just one controller $11,800
My question is, is the 31kw heater overkill or is the 23kw insufficient? What would you recommend? Also is the pricing on the money?
Thanks in advance.
