If there is plenty of access height & the budget is tight it is an item that can be retrofitted at a later date - unlike wall or between upper & lower storeys. A rigid type insulation such as extruded polystyrene is a good selection with an air space to the underside of the flooring. A wool type product needs to be well sealed off to prevent vermin such as mice or rats nesting. do you mean something like expol?
