Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 May 20, 2012 1:26 pm Hi all, We are looking at what heating to use in our house and by the looks of it Gas is the way to go here in Canberra with overnight temps getting as low as -5 this month. Previous experience with a central gas heater has ruled this option out. The issue may have been the unit or the ducting with the end result being lots of gas sweet all heating. In my research I have come across these new (?) fang-dangled gas wall furnaces and as the story goes they are uber good; is this true and how do they differ from the gas space heaters? We are looking to heat the family/dining/kitchen/hall which would be about 90sqm, a study of 30sqm, bedroom/walk in/bathroom (open set design) of 30sqm. Braemar’s wall furnace http://www.metroheatcool.com.au/braemar ... urnace.php Braemar Eco-Superstar space heaters http://www.metroheatcool.com.au/braemar ... eating.php Our house is well insulated with the standard double glazing on all windows, 4's in the ceiling, 2's in the external wall and 2's in all internal walls including all garages. I am currently putting the finishing touches to the doors to ensure no breeze gets in. Currently we have 1 radiator heater in the main living area which keeps that at ~17 degrees even when the overnight is -5.
