I have some polyester batts that need topping up. I think they are R2 or R2.5 but I want to be sure so that I know what to top them up with. So does anybody know what R rating a standard polyester batts of 90mm thickness would be?
Thanks,
Gavin.

If it is in a roof you can whack another layer on top to increase the R-value. I think polyester batts at 90mm are R-2.5 not 2.0 but it probably depends on the brand and how much you want to spend. Just make sure to keep your batts away from light fittings , flue vents etc. Stewie Re: THICKNESS OF 90mm POLYESTER BATTS 3Apr 24, 2012 2:30 pm Thanks. I think you misunderstood my question, but you did give me the info required. I want to get to R5.5 or R6, but want to know what I already have. If they are R2.5, then R3.0 or R3.5 will do the job.
