Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Apr 10, 2012 11:16 pm I'm thinking of getting a plumbing inspector as suggested by Brad75 in other thread to have a look at the Brivis system install by this D@ady air clown. Google it but don't seem to have any info relevant, who should I actually contact? Plumbing Industry Commission? Any input would be really appreciated. Re: Plumbing inspector for the air con duct work? 4Apr 11, 2012 1:05 am If you have contacted the installer and they don't wish to help, the manufacturer might, maybe help or stick the boot into the installer if they are an authorized installer. You may find the plumbing industry commission unwilling or unable to help, you may have to goto consumer affairs like VCAT in Victoria and lodge a complaint with them, but that's a long drawn out process from what I hear. 2 Re: Plumbing inspector for the air con duct work? 5Apr 11, 2012 11:01 pm Thanks Stormjr for your suggestion, I know what you mean about VCAT as I'm in the process of suing my builder. We moved into an ex display home from Henley, only to have pipes in our ceiling leak through after two weeks. This was supposedly fixed by Henley, only to have the same thing happen about 18 months later. Henley washed their hands of it, saying I should take it up with the installer. Great help he was! Basically said quite rudely to have the heater serviced, then hung up on me! Now we had the same thing happen again a couple of weeks ago. This time I sourced another plumber. Surprise surprise, I was told that they used type N (blue) glue instead of type P (green) glue on pressure pipes. Lodged a technical enquiry with PIC, to which I was told to lodge a complaint with them. I did that this morning, and have had a call from them before stating that the leak that was fixed by the current plumber is now his responsibility. But of the remaining pipes with the blue glue leak, I can lodge another complaint, to which the installer would be responsible for fixing the pipes, and also for any resulting damage to our ceiling. Like many of the other contractors Henley have used, Dandy Air is not welcome back here! Re: Plumbing inspector for the air con duct work? 7Apr 30, 2012 11:59 pm What pipes are you talking about if ex henley display i would presume you have a brivis add on a/c system the only pvc pipes should be for the drain from evap which is under no pressure? Re: Plumbing inspector for the air con duct work? 9May 24, 2012 10:42 pm Havent had a chance to contact the plumbing inspector, busy suing builder for more important stuff, my lawyer told me not to waste time with the plumbing inspector, they won't do anything. And is it possible to disconnect the duct joined to the vent from inside the house, without going into the roof cavity? 0 4038 Hi all, sorting out the ducted air con for a 350sqm double story house.
