Interesting speaking to various installers the different opinions you get. It seems to be there are 2 camps (Bosch resellers vs the rest).
Has anyone had experiences with the Bosch units?

Hi all, great forum! In the process of building two 4 bedroom houses (27 sqm) to live in (2nd house for parents). I got quotes from Cambro Hydronic Heating (CHH) & Hydronic Heating Systems (HHS).
Heating area would be 16sqm for the ground floor.
CHH - $10k with Immergas SE32kw
HHS - $9k with Sim Brava 30 BFR e
Both with PE-Xa Rehau pipes
After reading the posts i wanted to understand a couple of things ... esp as 1960sModernistHome's post has made me start more research!

- Shared Boiler for hot water system - can i share these boilders? or would i need an additional HWS?
- Upstairs heating - CCH initially quoted $16k to include Delonghi radiators for upstairs as well ..
- Heat rises - wondering whether it's necessary... plan to have double glazed windows / thick curtains for additional insulation.
- Cooling - geothermal heat pump ducted air conditioning sounds interesting ... however now wondering if i installed that, would i need slab heating ?
- I'm not against the idea of a single split system in the main area with ceiling fans!
- Solar panels - Wanted to get a 5kw solar system ... however still undecided around gas vs electric boilers.
1, Yes you can get a combi boiler and use the second loop for domestic hot water. I do this at home.
2, From my experience, I'd say you still need panels upstairs though they don't need to be sized as large. There's also the option to fit thermostatic heads to close down each panel when the rooms they are in are up to temperature so you don't keep heating rooms upstairs unnecessarily. If I was doing it again, I wouldn't installa panel in the upstairs living area
1, Geothermals work great, better than air or water cooled as the ground temperature is more constant all year round. The only disadvantage is it's not widely adopted so is more costly to purchase and install first up.
1, It's not worth feeding into the grid at 6.6c pay back per kw/h. You're better off looking at battery storage systems instead and only feeding in any excess you're not using.

Thank you. That is really helpful. Once we get the place done and passed for OC we can upgrade in the future once we get back on our feet and not paying mortgage and rent.
