He alternated clear with grey blockout as we need the winter light in the house. The windows for the family room and master bedroom face west (the side the patio is on). All the afternoon sun hits these windows and (with a weather station) the temperature under the patio is approx 10 degrees higher than anywhere not under this patio. He installed a Coolmist system to reduce the heat under the patio. I don't think it is big enough! After it was on for a few hours tonight, the temperature did actually drop from 42 to 38, but constant adjustments to the spray nozzles when they start dripping instead of misting is a pain in the rear. Has anyone had experience with these spray systems? He has installed in a horseshoe shape, whereas I think it should be a total loop to even out the pressure. Any advice would be very welcome as we come home from work and cook, not to mention our puppies who have to stay under this stuff all day. I have built them a totally insulated kennel, but I would prefer to cool the patio. Friends have commented on how bloody hot it is underneath.
