So allow me to get this right before I go back to them. can you: 1) set zone A to 20 through one net controller and the other to say, 23 on the other net controller simultaneously? 2) Can you switch off heating on zone A and the heating for zone B is monitored by your secondory controller? Thanks for your help! Thanks for your help! Steve Steve, I think the answer here in no. The second controller works as a slave to the first controller and simply mimics the controls and thats it. We have a variance of about 2 degrees between up and downstairs and the controllers are located centrally so the difference is minimal. Perhaps you could look to make the existing controller the slave and install the other one a little more centrally to get the effect of the thermostat?? To achieve what you want you would need 2 seperate heaters and 2 controllers.... Re: Heating / Cooling Zones 30Apr 18, 2008 1:14 pm dreamhome Hi everyone, Can you have zoning with evaporative cooling also? Or is it only for ducted heating and air cond? We were told that we cannot have zoning with evap cooling. Cheers Mark from DHC's website has this to say: Q--Can you shut off rooms not being used? A--You could but there is really no need. Simply open the windows in the rooms you want cooled and the air from the rooms that don't have open windows will vent through the open windowed areas. There is no need to zone an evapoartive cooling system. Re: Heating / Cooling Zones 31Apr 18, 2008 2:27 pm This is from the brivis website:
I will go home and see if the networker upstairs (my B zone) can be changed to have the heart symbol to monitor the temp.... If this is possible we may have a winner! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Heating / Cooling Zones 32Apr 18, 2008 2:47 pm From here:

The two Networkers will operate together, one will be configured as a Master and the other a Slave, and the settings for the Heater will be common on both controllers. The benefit of having two controllers is the convenience of making adjustments to the Heater settings. If an adjustment is made on one of the Networkers it is immediately reflected on the other Networker. When locking one of the networkers the other one will also be locked, and the system can be unlocked at either Networker. The Networkers can be set up as remote temperature sensors when used with zoning. Ask your installer for more information. Re: Heating / Cooling Zones 33Nov 16, 2008 2:05 pm Just bringing up an old thread...
Matt (or anyone), how much did it cost u to add zones? my builder is charging me 600. But i think this is because each zone has a controller (sensor), just like yours. Thanks. \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/ Re: Heating / Cooling Zones 34Nov 20, 2008 1:59 pm Is it worth getting a Networker or Programmable Controller for Brivis? Or is the Manual Controller enough?
Any idea on costs of the Networker or Programmable Controller? \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/ Re: Heating / Cooling Zones 35Nov 20, 2008 2:03 pm Dembi, each zone is about $200+-ish and that is for the zone motor which is the flap motor that opens and closes to "zone" the space off.
In regards to the controller, i suppose it depends if you want to automate the unit to come on and warm the house before you wake up and have it warm enough when you get home at night and turn off or remain at a certain temperature during the day or night? For me, that is not a luxury, with my hubby getting up at 6am and kids etc, its worth the couple of hundred for the controller to make sure we are comfortable. And its also better to get it done now while they're installing the system as opposed to after the fact. I think the controller was another couple of hundred, but i think they are well worth it. Re: Heating / Cooling Zones 36Nov 24, 2008 7:02 pm Thanks for the response Phoenix. We definitely get the Programmable or Networker controller. But we won't be getting the zoning. Too expensive, builder charging us 600. We'll probably get it next time if ever. \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/ Re: Heating / Cooling Zones 37Jan 20, 2009 8:52 pm I have Brivis add-on air with 2 zones which works quite well. 40 deg in Melbourne today with 1 zone on A/C cycling at 22deg if set at 21 will stay on cont tried 2 zones open temp increases to 25-26 still not bad when 40 outside.
