Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Sep 22, 2011 9:04 pm Hi all, Building a house at the moment and the 90mm frames are up. Wanting to put some acoustic insulation in most internal walls to attenuate the noise from bathrooms and tv etc. The supervisor is all fine with it however, there isn't much information on intructions. Bit confused about electrical wires and plumbing etc. I have checked bradford's and pinkbatts website however they don't state anything about keeping clear of electrical wires using a spacer tool. Anyone have any sites or information on installing? I am hoping it is just buying the appropiate size i.e 90mm and correct stud/joist size and install. Thanks in advance. Re: Internal acoustic installation guide? 2Sep 25, 2011 10:51 am Hi mark ii, We have the Bradford sound proofing insulation through all internal and external walls of our new house which we hope to be in sometime in the next 3 weeks. It costs us just under $4,500 to do the internal walls with the external walls being separate as they were an upgrade. If I recall correctly the living space is 330 sqm on a 467 sqm house. In our house all the electrical and plumbing was done and then the bats installed. In our installation the electrical wiring runs through or behind the bats and I presume this is correct. We feel that the sound proofing insulation does take the edge off the sound especially as the entire house is tile and you know how that stuff echoes. When inside the new house it is like you are disconnected from the outside world, a cool feeling. Cheers, Darth Teddy Bear Thank you alexp79 and gommeqld for your advice, that's very helpful, thanks 3 7944 I need to replace the worn mohair seal on my sliding window, but I can't get access to the end to slide the old one out & push the new one in. I could probably rip the old… 0 5200 Thanks Simon, I guess I'm no concerned with the volume of the noise rather that dead and hollow sound and feel that is associated with floating floors. But I'm not sure… 3 6163 |
