Hi,
Our Brivis Buffalo heating unit was making a strange noise, but otherwise working OK.
I got a gas heating guy to have a look at it, and he said the fan was out of shape, and was able to adjust it to make it a bit quieter. He said its OK to use, it will just be a bit noisy.
He said the fan needs to be replaced (cost $600 ), but recommended we get a new unit instead (approx $2600 ) because of the age of it. The Brivis is about 20 years old, (unit located outside, ducting is through the floor)and has given us no trouble until this.
I'm not sure whether its worth fixing it, or going to the expense of getting it replaced when nothing else seems to be going wrong with it.
Does anybody know what the lifespan of these units are? Any advice whether its better to repair or replace?
