Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Jul 22, 2011 8:27 pm We just signed off our Tender today with Wisdom Homes. We really want a Gas Fire inbuilt into the wall. After researching gas fires on the internet, we decided on the Heat and Glo 550 TRSI with the pebbles. The unit alone is just shy of 5K. The flu kit is $1500, Stainless Steel Surround is $700, and Stainless Steel Front is another $900. We have been quoted by wisdom for full installation and supply of the fire fitted into the wall $7890. Would you spend this much on gas heating. It will heat about 80sqm. We will be tiling most of our downstairs area. I am sure it will not heat the front of the home, but will look stunning and have a real cozy effect. Would you do it? Or would you recommend a better more efficient gas fire? We are not going crazy on the home upgrades, but this is our 3rd home and we want to do things right the first time this time. throw your opinions at me...
