The type i mean use a duct with an inline fan to transfer heat from one room to another. Just wondering how successful in reality they really are. Thanks. Re: Ducted heat transfer 2Jun 05, 2011 9:28 pm Yes, very successful, ours has a low hum from the motor however it is over 20 years old. Have a combustion heater in one room and use it to transfer into a second main living area both areas approximately 90sqm. Only use 1 inline fan, 3 outlets in the second. The inlet vent is placed at the apex of a raked ceiling so it does collect allot of heat...not sure how successful it would be in a normal celing. Re: Ducted heat transfer 6Jun 13, 2011 10:19 am we are thinking of doing something along the same lines we arent getting any heating or cooling in with our build as they offer evap cooling we will have one combustion heater in the main media/lounge and are thinking a wall unit for heating and cooling in the dining area (and maybe one down the front of the house) have seen ducted kits that can transfer heat from room to room and looked like a good idea we arent sure what to do ducted thruout with a normal reverse cycle ducted package, or go some split systems and a ducting kit. we have no gas lines were we are, so that option is out There may be answers here but can't find anything.
