Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 May 12, 2011 9:34 pm Looking at the ducted gas heating / add-on refrigerated cooling in my tender document. I've opted for a Brivis gas ducted heating with add on refrigerated cooling (17.1 kW). Is that enough for a 2 storey house approx 37 squares? It's current configured into 2 zones, upstairs and downstairs. Upstairs, I have all the bedrooms and an activity area. Downstairs, I have the rest of the living areas such as kitchen, study, lounge, rumpus etc. Is this zoning configuration ok? I guess it sort of make sense as you're either upstairs in the bedroom or downstairs for the rest of the day right? Is there anything else I need to be aware of? Like this in heating mode if the ftop floor heats up first then the system will shut down the zone motor and pump more air into the lower story to offset the rising temp. In a two storey house it will always be cool on the bottom story so you should find it to be ok. Most people with two story houses just have the top storey running for aircond. Since all the hot air risers the work the system to combat the hot air on the upper storey,.
