Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Apr 12, 2011 8:33 am Hi All, Just had the Braemar Ecostar Spectrolink gas ducted heating installed last week. We have an issue at the moment where the unit is in the roof cavity above our main living area and when the fan and burners turn on, it sounds like a plane is flying overhead. Also, when the fan kicks in, it seems to blow at maximum force for a couple of minutes and then switch off. Has anyone else had this experience? Most ducted heating units we've seen blow a gentle stream of air and can hardly be heard. Re: Braemar Spectrolink Heating 2May 28, 2011 11:09 am Mikapi, There are settings that can be changed at setup / commissioning to vary airflow etc. The unit noise from the burner is another matter. I have an external unit so cannot comment on internal noise but can be heard outside easily when it fires up. Depending on thermostat and return air locations (and temp settings), will ultimately determine how long the unit runs for - upon reaching set point temperature, the unit will turn off. That was probably not much help but I can dig up the commissioning instructions if that helps? You get what you pay for! Re: Braemar Spectrolink Heating 3May 29, 2011 9:16 pm I can't really help but mine has become very noisy. We've only been using it for a couple of months. The outside unit rattles and if I go outside and hit it it seems to settle for a while. I think I have to give them a call. Another thing going wrong!! Good luck Does anyone have a suggestion for a good hydronic in slab heating speacialist who may be able to help me with an existing system and wether or not it may need a seperator… 0 4887 |
