Obviously we'd be paying someone to do the refrigerant and electrical connections, and I know a guy that can do that. The last video was a bit vague as to what went where, but i'm assuming they'd send instructions anyway. So has anyone done it, and what are their thoughts? Anything I should look out for? Was a bit dissapointed with no instructions, but at least with the videos online I had it all plumbed up then got the A/C man in to finish the job. Saved around 2k from memory. Will do it again. PS its coming into nice cool weather to be in the roof. Not like me just before chrissy in the heat. Re: DIY Ducted Reverse Cycle Air Conditioning 3Apr 28, 2011 4:38 pm I am also looking into getting one of these. Anyone else bought from these guys? My bro is a sparky and he knows a fridgie that can gas them for cheap. I am thinking of getting the Actron SRA 141 unit. Re: DIY Ducted Reverse Cycle Air Conditioning 4Apr 29, 2011 9:38 am Hi, I have been looking at this company http://www.ductedreversecycleairconditioning.com.au/. Has anyone else used them? They seems to have a better range of systems available. I am thinking about sending my plans for the $110 design service - it seems like a reasonable investment before spending thousands. You have to be a licensed plumber with mechanical or duct fixing license to be able to install ducting and it's not as easy as it looks on video i'm for ever going around and fixing ducting that un qualifed people install . Re: DIY Ducted Reverse Cycle Air Conditioning 7May 27, 2011 1:30 am Ahhh- deeps ('hit' added?) - jokes The gyprock is the easy part. Anyway - I used Actrol Parts to supply all my gear and components for a holiday house - they recommended a local sparky to wire it (I run the cable) and a qualified fridgy to pipe it (I hung the unit and duct) I have compliance certificates on the whole job - do you?
