One thing the builder promised us he'd do if we could find out if it was possible - can you get a controller/thermostat for brivis systems which you can connect into the home network/internet and control remotely? Ideally the concept we're looking for is the ability to turn on the heating/cooling as we leave the office and have the house warm/cool by the time we're home. Or have I asked for something that doesn't actually exist? Building Masterton Overture Re: Internet Control for Brivis ducted system 2Apr 02, 2011 4:52 pm if you just want the heating to be on before you get home, the network controller for the brivis has an auto function wherein you program 5 different times (wake, leave, return, pre-sleep and sleep) and set the temperature you want to have during that time.. i just programmed our's today.. Don't want to needlessly heat/cool a house we're not using Building Masterton Overture Re: Internet Control for Brivis ducted system 5Apr 06, 2011 6:39 am Banj Howdy, In the process of doing our design selections, and we're getting data wiring for the house. However with a home automation system it wouldn't be too hard to do, but I suspect it would be very expensive. As others have said the networker controller can be programmed pretty easily and the heat-up time is so short you don't really need to have it run until your home anyway. Afterall it is a ducted system. Re: Internet Control for Brivis ducted system 6Apr 06, 2011 11:15 pm We're a few steps behind you (haven't even settled on the block yet) but I'm hearing you !!! You'd think something like this would be reasonably easy with todays technology. In the preliminary research I've done, nothing could be further from the truth !! Seems "all" the Home Automations systems "can" control your HVAC systems................ As long as you're prepared (and it is physically and electrically possible) to replace your you-beaut, programmable, timer, multizone, thermostat - controller that came with your Fujitsu / Brivis / Dakin / Whatever-brand airconditioner with just a dumb-a55 "On / Off" controller !!! P_D Clipsal have a whole heap of nice thermostats for their C-bus automation system that can control a wide variety of heating and cooling systems, so no need for just a dumb on off controller. They also have an IP interface box called Wiser that can control the thermostats over the net. The killer is cost and getting someone to integrate it all into a system that the customer wants. Re: Internet Control for Brivis ducted system 8Apr 07, 2011 9:52 am @ AJW .......... Did not know that !! I only manged to find a couple of them that were "universal" type ones !! The A/C systems I like so far are either Mitisubshi Heavy Industries or Fujitsu, with good recommenations also for Actron. Any idea if C-Bus makes a compatiable all-singing-all-dancing replacement thermostat / controller for any of thse ? Thanks, P_D . Thanks, P_D Generally speaking most aircon and heating units actually have relativly basic controls anyway with the smarts all in the controller, so interfacing isn't all that hard... provided you can get the info out of the manufacturer. As for the clipsal products have a look at some of these docs and then to go to the Clipsal website to get more detailed technical docs. (at their home page select trade rather than residential) The doc below lists the part numbers of the various models http://www.clipsal.com.au/trade/__data/ ... 001277.pdf The next doc has some sample wiring diagrams to get an idea of how it all works. http://www.cleverhome.com.au/manuals/Cl ... lation.pdf Re: Internet Control for Brivis ducted system 10Apr 07, 2011 9:54 pm Thanks guys, that's absolutely bloody brilliant - exactly what I was looking for.
