Hi
We are nearly finished our reno. Our insulation has been sitting in the ceiling to still be installed. I discovered today that the foreman only thought it was for the new part. Our tender clearly states it is for the whole house. That's fine he had no problem ordering more. He commented that it is R3.5 waiting to be installed. Again tender clearly states R5.0. Again they will have no issue with replacing it if it is wrong.
My questions are:
I have no idea how old the insulation is (we've been here 7yrs)- is it best to get it replaced or should I get a credit and not replace it?
Also would I notice a difference between R3.5 and R5.0- again should I get him to swap it or get a credit.
Or do I put the R3.5 on top of the old stuff and R5.0 over the new area?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
