Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Feb 17, 2011 7:36 am Hi Building a house with Clarendon and am forced to go with either Carrier or Daikin. I choose Daikin . I need help though choosing the right system Our house will be East facing, having R1.5 wall batts and R3.0/3.5 ceiling batts and sarking. I'm in very sunny Brisbane. Ground plus first floor is 350sqm (excludes garage and alfresco). 5 bedrooms + study, large open plan downstairs and media room and classroom. Because my wife will be home schooling (and at home therefore most days), I need a unit that will do a good job. We're looking at smart zoning about 6 zones. I can see that 4 or 5 of the 6 zones being used at any one time. It would be extremely rare that 6 of 6 zones used at same time (cutting out about 50 sqm with that 6th zone). What I'm having trouble with is either the inverter 20kw FDYQ200P or the inverter 24kw FDYQ250M. Although the price is only an additional $1,000, I'm concerned about having "too much" power as the 20kw will range from 12kw to 22.4kw, while the 24kw unit will range from 15kw to 28kw. Thoughts? I haven't considered the 24kw hybrid Daikin unit as I'm not sure it can do an inverter job. Thanks Brendan Re: Help! Daikin FDYQ200P vs. FDYQ250M 3Feb 17, 2011 9:18 pm Also consider the minimum zoning you want. Otherwise you will have too much airflow concentrated in a small area. Re: Help! Daikin FDYQ200P vs. FDYQ250M 4Feb 18, 2011 7:16 am B STAR what is the main area you will want air conditioning for the most time. How big is this area in square meters?? The main area is the open plan family/meals/kitchen/laundry which is 110-120 sqm approx. on the ground floor. That's one zone. Also on the ground floor are two enclosed areas at around 25sqm each. [3 zones]. The main area to be air conditioned is this big area and one of the two enclosed areas, during the day. Upstairs where the bedrooms are will be main bedroom/ensuite 35sqm, bedrooms 2,3,4 at total 40sqm and then bed 5 and retreat total 35sqm. [3 zones] Thanks for any help, Hi there, long-time lurker but first time posting. I've bought a house 2 and a bit years ago and last year we had some major water damage on a converted pergola area… 0 7931 Yes, unless you are in a low intensity rainfall area or the area is protected from rain. Do you have access to NCC Part 2 or can you download it? I can email you a copy… 10 12514 Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7158 |
